Supper Clubs at The Bonny Doon Homestead are a way to discuss interesting, relevant and complex issues with a diverse group of people over a good home-cooked meal. From a developmental understanding of humanity we believe that we are all on a path of learning in which we transcend and include our previous ways of knowing and being. Facilitated by Nikolas in an environment of inclusivity and respect, the only rule is that we honor the perspective that each person brings and maintain a curious mind.

What is the role of education in addressing global problems?
Education has many roles including personal development, employment, social cohesion, citizenship, knowledge acquisition etc. With the emergence of global crises such a climate change, biodiversity loss, cultural colonialism and rising childhood depression/suicide, does education have a role beyond serving cultural, economic and political trends? If so, what can guide such a ‘futures oriented’ education? Conscious educators from all domains and backgrounds welcome (Professors, K-12, administrators, home schoolers, unschoolers, Philosophers, private/public teachers, etc.). Let’s eat, drink and all change our minds.
Please contact us to express interest in participating and include info on any food intolerances. We aim to prepare fresh, organic vegetarian food plus a selection of wine/ beer/ cocktails. The suggested donation of these evenings together is $25 per person.
You can also reserve a spot on Meetup at:

Male spirituality and toxic masculinity
Many indigenous and traditional cultures have forms of male initiation or male rites of passage. In modern and post-modern western cultures, this has been lacking. In the emerging movement toward a more fluid and non-binary understanding of gender, is there still a need for “male” spirituality or healthy masculine practices and traditions? In other words, can I smash patriarchy and still be masculine? As always, all are welcome in a spirit of listening to and respecting one another.
